Joni Lamb, the co-founder and president of the Daystar Television Network, died on May 7, 2026, at the age of 65. She faced serious medical issues, which rapidly deteriorated after a recent back injury heightened her health challenges. However, even amid such a condition, Joni was able to spend her last moments before death at her home in Bedford, Texas. Her company, Daystar, announced her death in a heartbreaking post, recalling her faith in God even in the face of hostilities.
Joni’s demise has led to the resurfacing of her controversies, including her estrangement from her son, Jonathan Lamb and daughter-in-law, Suzy Lamb. The reason was a disagreement between the couple and Joni over Joni’s granddaughter. Amid the chatter around the family feud, Suzy expressed disappointment at not being informed of her mother-in-law’s death. However, despite a highly publicised rift with Joni, Suzy shared a post for the deceased, expressing the grief she, her husband and children were undergoing.

Joni Lamb and her first husband, Marcus Lamb‘s only son, Jonathan, and his wife, Suzy, have been estranged from her for a long time. Loni even cut her son off from the family business by firing him from Daystar. However, setting aside the differences, Suzy shared an unseen family picture of herself with her husband, Jonathan, her ex-father-in-law, Marcus and Joni. All four of them posed cheerfully in the photo, likely taken at the Daystar studio. Sharing the image, Suzy mentioned how devastated the Lamb family was over Joni’s untimely demise.
According to the contents of Suzy’s heartfelt post, she, Jonathan, and their children were dealing with a “broken heart” after losing Joni. Notably, they didn’t even get to bid Joni the final adieu as they were not informed about her serious health condition, and even her death. Suzy also thanked everyone for their prayers and condolences and reiterated her faith in God. She captioned the poignant Instagram post as:
“I have no words right now. One day we will. For now it’s just a broken heart. Thank you for all your prayers, especially for Jonathan & our children. Heaven is our home. Jesus is coming soon.”

After getting to know about Joni Lamb’s death, Jonathan shared an unseen childhood picture of himself with his parents. The photo exudes warmth and love and was taken long before he reached adulthood, married, and became estranged. The photo has been going viral amid the resurfacing of details of the feud between him and his late mother. The post’s caption exuded sentiments similar to those in his wife, Suzy’s, tribute to Joni. Keeping his faith in God intact, Jonathan wrote:
“Thank you for your prayers. God will carry us through.”

The estrangement between Joni Lamb and her son, Jonathan Lamb, alongside his wife, Suzy Lamb, stemmed from the couple’s allegations of a child sexual abuse cover-up against her. According to the duo, Joni didn’t take appropriate steps regarding the alleged sexual abuse of their young daughter by a male family member of the Lambs and instead sided with the man to protect the family’s reputation. Jonathan claimed he was demoted and eventually fired because he refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that would prevent him from speaking out about the abuse.
