The Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 finale has been the talk of the town for the last couple of days. For those unaware, the emotional finale saw Kevin McKidd’s character, ‘Owen Hunt’, leaving Seattle along with Kim Raver’s ‘Teddy Altman’ to start a new chapter in Paris. However, in reality, Kevin said that he is far from over with the beloved character of the ABC drama.
Kevin McKidd reveals he is open to returning after ‘Owen Hunt’s’ Season 22 exit
Recently, Grey’s Anatomy actor, Kevin McKidd, sat down for an interview with People, where he revealed that he is completely open to returning even though his character has already made an exit from the show this season. When asked whether he would return as an actor or as a director, Kevin admitted that he was open to both. In his words:
“I would do both in a heartbeat. I love the character, Owen, and again, he’s not dead, so there’ll be a chance that that can happen. I would embrace that opportunity with wide-open arms. Because we really are a family there.”

For the uninitiated, in addition to acting, Kevin has also played a significant role behind the camera, having directed more than 45 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. This also includes the all-gripping Season 22 finale. Kevin revealed that he might even return behind the camera sooner than fans had expected. At present, he is all set to return to London to continue shooting for The Only Suspect, which is a four-part psychological miniseries. Talking about his plans to return to Los Angeles shortly afterwards, the actor said:
“I’ll be finished [with] that in June. Then I’ll be looking at coming back to L.A. and probably directing one of the first episodes of the [next] season. So yeah, it’s not over for me yet.”

Kevin McKidd responds to his Harry Potter casting rumours
While Kevin McKidd has already made it clear he intends to return to Grey’s Anatomy in one way or another, the question remains whether he will appear in HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter series. For those unaware, there had been a lot of speculation about Kevin being cast to play ‘Arthur Weasley’ in the series. The rumours surfaced when eagle-eyed fans noticed that Gracie Cochrane, the young actor who is set to portray ‘Ginny Weasley’ on the show, followed Kevin on Instagram.

Well, during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin finally addressed the speculations. He said, “I saw something about this. And, listen, I would never say never. I’m a massive Harry Potter fan.” Interestingly, Kevin revealed that many years ago, when he was starring in the short-lived sci-fi series, Journeymen, he had actually been offered a role in the final two films, Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Part 2 (2011) by the Harry Potter director, David Yates himself.

Apparently, David had sent a letter to the actor to make the offer. However, because Kevin was “under contract” at the time, he was unable to be part of the two films, as he was still waiting to hear whether Journeyman would return for season 2. Well, as it happened, the show wasn’t picked up, and Kevin missed out on the opportunity. He said:
“So I missed out on that chance of being in the final two Harry Potter films back in the day, which still makes me sad. [The] idea of getting another crack at that, because I was asked to be in it once, already gets me very excited. So listen, if those rumours can turn into something real, I would be very happy about that.”

Remembering the kind of role he was offered, Kevin said that it was “some kind of werewolf character.” Well, he could be referring to Dave Legeno’s character, in the last three films of the Harry Potter franchise. The character in question was ‘Fenrir Greyback,’ an evil, human-formed werewolf Death Eater enforcer.
