Intel will now make A27 chips for Apple which will also be used in the next generation MacBook Neo.

Chipmanking work for Apple has been done by Taiwanese company TSMC for years. But the company’s capacity has now been affected because with the advent of AI, there is a chip shortage in the market. Therefore, Apple has decided to increase the scope of its chip production. The aim of the company is to ensure that there is no shortage of entry level and main stream chips.

Currently, the company uses the A18 chip in MacBook Neo and iPhone 16. These are made on the basis of TSMC technology. The shortage is also said to have affected the production of A18. The deal with Intel will help Apple ensure the required quantity of upcoming MacBook Neo laptops in the market. According to reports, Apple was also in talks with Samsung for chip related requirements so that if needed, chips could be available from here as a backup option.
