Joni Lamb, longtime president of Daystar, passed away at the age of 65, after reportedly battling a secret health issue, which worsened due to her back pain. Joni’s passing came as a heartbreak, and her family is navigating a tough time. Joni was married to Marcus, with whom she had three children. It was in 2021, when Marus passed away, and two years later, she married Doug Weiss.
Following the death of Marcus, an issue in the family erupted, and Joni and Marcus’ son, Jonathan, was fired from Daystar. A controversy has also taken place with Jonathan and his wife, Suzy’s allegations against Joni and Marcus. Well, before that, Joni shared a good bond with Suzy, who recently shared several statements about the former’s passing, and revealed being in a heartbroken state. Soon after Joni passed away, Suzy dropped a post on X and also revealed that she and Jonathan were not informed about the same, while adding that they were down the street and were still not asked to meet Joni and say goodbye.

Amid this, an old post of Joni Lamb made rounds on social media, wherein she was seen sitting with Suzy. Sharing the photo, she called Suzy a ‘keeper’ while adding that she’s her ‘daughter-in-love’. The post was a love-filled one and spoke volumes about the duo’s bond before the dispute.
Another photo was from Joni’s wedding album, where she, along with her two daughters and Suzy, posed for an adorable selfie, and it was all things cute. For the unversed, Suzy and Jonathan accused Joni and Marcus of a cover-up of a sexual assault case that happened with their then-5-year-old daughter.
What was the family dispute in the Lamb family?
As per them, a family member, who is claimed to be ‘Pete’ in the documents, sexually assaulted the little one, and when Suzy and Jonathan revealed that to Joni and Marcus, they reportedly covered up and asked them not to go public with the same, promising that she would talk to the little one, which, as per Suzy, she never did. Jonathan and Suzy filed a complaint with the police, but as their daughter didn’t speak on this matter, the case was closed. The case was again reopened, but due to a lack of evidence, no charges were filed.
On the other hand, Joni denied the cover-up claims and mentioned that the TRR story was written by a lower-level blog writer, who didn’t have enough information about the story from both sides. Jonathan was removed from the company, and Joni revealed that the decision was taken after a 15-month review, during which Jonathan failed to satisfy a performance improvement plan. Reportedly, Jonathan wanted to be the President of Daystar after his dad’s passing, a responsibility which Marcus had already given to his wife, Joni, before he passed away in 2021.

As it seemed, Jonathan, Suzy and Joni hadn’t fixed the issues between them even before she passed away. In a post, Suzy revealed that she and Jonathan were not informed. However, Suzy has been dropping several posts, wherein she had spoken about the grief, pain, loss and anger after losing her mother-in-law, as well as she, in one of the posts, asked people to fear god. In another post, she revealed that Jonathan was heartbroken.
