The scandal began when Page Six published photos of Mike and Dianna Russini on April 7, 2026, where the duo can be seen holding hands, hugging, and lounging at a luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona. In later weeks, additional photos of Mike and Dianna from a New York City bar in 2020 and a Mississippi casino in 2024 surfaced, adding fuel to the fire. Well, with the constant leaks that the story has seen, recently, veteran Patriots analyst, Tom E. Curran raised mental health concerns for Mike Vrabel.
Patriots analyst, Tom E. Curran, raises concern for Mike Vrabel’s mental health amid Dianna Russini affair drama
One of the latest developments in the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini scandal came a few days ago, when TMZ obtained and published documents and a video of the duo renting a private boat together. Reportedly, this was in Putnam County, Tennessee, back in June 2021, when Mike was still coaching the Tennessee Titans. Based on the video, Dianna was visibly pregnant with her first child. The outlet even noted that at the time, Mike and Dianna appeared to be cautious about getting photographed. Well, with new leaks like this arriving almost every other week, veteran Patriots analyst, Tom E. Curran of NBC Sports raised a concern that not many would have even thought of during the saga. He said:
“I think there’s a point at which you might as an individual, no matter how lofty your position and how important you are to the organisation, might say, ‘I am depressed, I can’t do this, I can’t take the scrutiny.’ Everybody has a breaking point. ”
According to Tom, everybody wants it to be neat and tidy, especially with Mike stepping away “to help the brand and get his life in order, and he just couldn’t.” He says that there is a “mental health” aspect to this, which he suggests is pretty profound on a daily basis.
From the outside at least, it is worth noting that Mike Vrabel has shown resilience throughout his coaching career. During his first season as head coach with the Patriots, he guided the team to a 14-3 record and a Super Bowl appearance. In the process, Mike also managed to win a Coach of the Year award. Before joining the Patriots organisation, Mike had spent six seasons in Tennessee. This was at a time when the team was undergoing constant roster changes, and there was significant tension in the front office, underscoring that Mike is more than capable of handling pressure.
The New England Patriots continue to back Mike Vrabel amid the Dianna Russini affair controversy
As of now, the New England Patriots have publicly backed their head coach, Mike Vrabel, despite the constant scrutiny he has faced ever since his alleged affair with Dianna Russini came to light. It is worth noting that the owner, Robert Kraft, has also not indicated that they are considering firing Mike, as many had previously suspected. The Patriots players have also been showing their support for the coach, with Alijah Vera-Tucker noting:
“I think just being open and honest. I think that’s key in any relationship, and I give credit to him. He’s very honest with us, very open as well. I don’t think a lot of people would be able to do that. I respect that a lot. And like I said, I’m excited to be coached by Vrabel. I think he’s a phenomenal coach in this league.”
