Human bones found near Nancy Guthrie’s home
The 84-year-old’s disappearance has left everyone in shock, and many are scared, as she was abducted from her home. Now, as per the recent reports, human bones were found near Nancy Guthrie’s residence. It has left many concerned, and while officials are urging caution, others worry about Nancy’s safety.
The bone fragments were discovered in a bridge area in Tucson. Footage was circulated by local reporters, which showed officers examining the remains. Social media users quickly started speculating about the human origin. However, the authorities have asserted that they cannot reach a conclusion, as it requires forensic confirmation. The police have confirmed that the bone was human. The officials also highlighted the fact that the bones are not of Nancy Guthrie, as they appear significantly older. An X user shared the update and wrote:
“Tucson authorities are ON SCENE near where a live streamer reported finding bones about 15 minutes east of Nancy Guthrie’s home. They have not yet been identified. I’m told that protocol would be for responding officers to take a photo to a forensic anthropologist at the county medical examiner’s office who can make a preliminary determination on whether they belonged to a human. I’ve just arrived. Will update soon.”
The bones were discovered after Nancy Guthrie had vanished for more than three months from her home, which was under CCTV surveillance. The blood on the porch, a disabled Ring camera and many other signs point to the fact that Nancy was abducted and not voluntarily left her home. So far, no ransom has been paid, and investigators have not named any suspect, despite investigation and tips from the people of Arizona.
Nancy Guthrie’s daughter, Savannah Guthrie and their family have offered a USD 1 million reward for information which would lead to her mother’s safe return. In fact, Savannah had even stepped away from her show on NBC earlier this week, leaving many wondering what might have gone wrong. But she returned the next day.

The 84-year-old author, Nancy Guthrie, was last seen on January 31, 2026, after her elder daughter dropped her off at home in Tucson. However, suspicion was raised when she missed a church service the next day, after which a search was launched to find her. Investigators were sure that Nancy was kidnapped in the night, as the surveillance footage had a masked man at her front door. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared that the investigators know the motive behind the kidnapping, and they believe it was a targeted one. They had that since day one; they had strong beliefs about what might have gone wrong, and those beliefs have not diminished so far.
